How come I am still alive?

I took approximately 420 mg of methylphenidate(ritalin, concerta, mythlin, etc) all at once and didn't die. It was taken orally also. I had been taking the perscribed amount since the first grade. I took this high dose once when I was 15 one time and I'm 17 now still alive. I just remember feeling really high and tweaked out for the whole day. I have read that doses in the 200 mg are extremely high doses. I wasn't trying to kill myself either, I just wanted to get really high. I had no idea that 420mg was such a high dose. So why didn't I die?

Hi, I've been diagnosed with severe adult ADHD. As a teenager I tried meth and it really seemed to calm me down. I could concentrate, focus and even sleep on it. (I am in NO way trying to glorify methamphetamine. It is an awful life destroying drug.) 48 days since last period, 3 negative home pregnancy test?

Okay, so my period is never really regular. But it has been 52 days since the 1st day and 48 days since the last day of my last period. I haven't felt any symptoms that I have noticed. I have a prescription from a C-2 medication and am in a different state than where it was prescribed with no chance of returning for the next few months. Texas (where I am at) will not accept any c-2 scripts from out of state due to their own laws. I have Tricare and can go on a base to get my prescription filled. That being said I was curious, do military installation (being federal land) follow state regulations when it comes to pharmacology? I know things like state gun laws, legal alcohol limits ect. are not governed by state laws when on base even though the latter is pretty universal. Hi, I'm a college student at age 17 that uses Methylin on a regular basis during the semester. I live 4 hours away from my parents and 3 hours away from my psychiatrist. I see him every 3 months for a check-up and prescription. Last time I hadn't run out of my medication quite yet and was not aware of the 21 day expiration date on my Methylin prescription, so when I went to turn it in at the pharmacy it was void. It would take my parents 7 hours to come pick me up and head out to get it re-prescribed. Is there any way for me to drive up and have it prescribed without my parents there? They are willing to give consent over the phone but aren't sure about the rules. We're still trying to get the doctor on the phone, but they seem to be busy..I was wondering if anybody knew the laws for this or a link to help me out. I am military and have been dealing with pain from two bulging discs in my lower back since Easter.?

First it started with a numb leg with sharp shooting pains and tingling and pain, then my foot started hurting when input pressure on it, the military sent me to a neurologist that said I have meragia prosthetica which is associated with obesity (I'm 110 lbs) pregnancy and diabetes which I don't have and sent mr for an MRI. MRI showed slight bulge in l4 l5 and l5 s1 which wasn't significant enough to do anything about. Since then it's gotten so much worse my back is killing me feels like a truck has ran over me. They next sent me to pain mngmnt which said he couldn't diagnose me and that I needed a full neurological work up so I went back to base and they out in a referral to a teaching hospital which needed two weeks to decide I'f they would even take me so then I went back to dr on base and found out they denied me, so now my dr on base says he don't know what to do that I need to find a neurologist and he'd out the federal in for me. I'm at my wits end and in extreme amount of pain they won't give me any meds since I had disc fusion in dec and have been on lortab since which don't work at all and I feel like the military isn't helping me. I can barely walk can't work lost my job over this can hardly make my bills and don't know what to do! Please help! Question about possibly going into labor?

I will be 40 weeks this Friday, July 1. Tuesday when I went to the doctor I was 3cm dialated and 80% effaced. I have tried many thing to kick start labor...sex,walking (MILES AND MILES) pineapple, spicy food, chinease food, fresh pineapple, bouncing on an excercise ball and probably a lot of other things i cant think of right now. Well I am having tons of pressure..when i stand or walk i feel as if she is really low..and a few minutes ago i started getting these sharp pains in my lower abdomen. Unexplained wrist pain?

This morning I when i went to work I began to fell a pain in my wrist. It's on the outside of my wrist and can be felt from just below my pinky finger to about an inch below my wrist. Most of the pain is centered on the wrist itself. I don't have a constant pain it's more like a sharp stabbing sensation when I twist it or move my wrist while grabbing something. Also trying to grab something that was wide, while I had my palm facing down was quite painful. I haven't had any type of injury recently, outwardly it looks fine(no bruising or anything like that), and yesterday it was fine.

Well I started taking ritalin about a week ago and took it for 3 days. While i was on ritalin i had a very high sex drive and was masturbating a lot! After 3 days of taking It i noticed it made me feel kind of nervice so i stopped. The day i stopped taking it i noticed that i wasn't aroused and it was very hard for me to masturbate at all. Why do I sweat and why do my feet smell?

For a few years now I have come across the issue of how my feet smell, even after I shower. It is a very rank smell and I don't really know how to describe it. It's not a sweat smell, just a dirty smell. I have also had issues with excessive sweating through-out the night. I don't know if it's anxiety or what, but regardless of the room temperature, I generally wake up in the morning, coated in sweat. It's not at the point where everything is soaked, but I do wake up feeling hungover as if I had drank the night before... I guess that could be from my loss of hydration through sweating. I apparently snore a lot, so could the possibility be sleep apnea? Does sleep apnea even cause night sweats? I am not entirely sure what this could mean for me. Also lately I have been getting extreme pain in the right side of my lower back where the flesh is... I guess that would be where the kidney is... or the liver? Pregnant and right arm hurting normal?

Im almost 25 weeks pregnant and I am having trouble with my right arm. Both of my hands keep falling asleep when I lay down it gets worse. My right arm seems worse my wrist gets to hurting and then I get sharp pains up and down my whole arm. Both of my hands keep swelling and going numb but my right arm does it worse I even had to take my ring off that hand cause it was digging in to my finger. My throat has been hurting for half a year now and it is on and off. On and off in the sense most of the times it hurts really bad and and rarely I can barely feel it. It hurts to scream and sometimes my voice turns hoarse for some reason with me not doing anything and I have to clear it out to get my voice normal. Well I am glad you see the Progressives are taking over the Democrat party. I am a conservative and think maybe we should allow farmers to grow hemp (which is not strong enough to get high on). They do give marijuana to cancer patients (they can even take it in a pill too). Should I go to the doctors for stomach pain?

I've been having stomach pain since last night it kept me up all night. It's a really sharp pain and it hurts more when I sit down or go to the bathroom. I started taking Ritalin for my ADHD for a couple months and got addicted to it and abused most of if part of the day. And then my parents yelled at me and the forced me to get off of it. I want to explain first that I am 5'10, 350lbs. In the past two years I have gained over 100lbs. I am on the medications Suboxone 8.2 mg 1 time a day but I also abuse my other medication which is Ritalin 20 mg. I take 7-9 a day but prescribed only 3. Off and on over the past year my feet swell and sometimes hurt. My lower legs swell also from about 5" below the knee down to my feet. My legs will break out in these sores, raised bumps that are usually filled with a clear liquid. The bumps/sores are not always all round. Some can be more like a 1/2 inch to inch long. Also, at times, usually evenings, my legs itch so bad its unbearable. What could be the diagnosis or cause? I have a doctors appt in a week. Any help is highly appreciated. I have pain in the plantar region of my large toe where the phalanges meet the metatarsals. This pain hurts when I stand on the balls of my feet and its a deep sharp pain. I've been taking birth control consistently for four months. Every thing was normal. I had my normal menstrual cycle and it stopped almost two weeks ago. I feel guilty for something I didn't do?

Today in school, we got a project back. A boy was going to take the project to break it and everybody didn't actually care. Then at the end of the class, he said for everybody in the group to break it. All I did was push down on it and cut my wrist accidentally on a sharp part of the project. I didn't break it because it didn't move at all, and then the boy broke the project in half. The teacher came up to our group and asked who did it, and everybody said "not me". I have three children a boy aged 3 another boy aged 1 and a half and a little girl aged 9 weeks. As a child i was diagnosed with ADHD and also have been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. My middle child who is one and a half i believe is also ADHD because he is always active more so than a normal child of his age, he is also clumsy and heavy handed and when i tell him off he just laughs at me. I am now 25 with 3 kids and know what hell my mother went though bringing me up and anyone bringing up an ADHD child i admire you for having to put with the people who don't know what there talking about! i left school when i was 14 with no GCSE and i have found it extremely difficult to keep a job for more than a year.ritalin made me very depressed so i didn't take it but i have found new strategy's to cope with my condition. I am now doing a law degree and am not going to let my adhd hold me back i am just learning to cope in different ways to most people. I feel so weird.. achy, mood swings, random sadness, no appetite, fatigue... what is this?

The past few days i have felt so weird... the worst mood swings, anxiety about health, achy, tired, sore, not hungry, sadness, sore throat... i have no idea what it is. Its horrible. It may have to do with the fact that im on accutane, ritalin, and zoloft and those are all drugs that mess with your mood, but it was just so sudden and weird. Any ideas? thanks.

I love your character!! Ive made characters myself. my fave character that I have made is named Ryley Ambrosia. she is half valkyrie & half witch. she is in a wiccan covent. since she is a valkyrie, she has small fangs and pointy ears (like an elf) she has the ability to see the future (soothsayer) & can read peoples minds. she has long black hair, green eyes (changes when feeling certain emotions), a perfect nose, and plump red lips. I write my own stories & she is the main character in the one I started. its cool to see that other people out there have an awesome imagination! :)

Does this make me a drug addict?

I started taking Ritalin for my ADHD for a couple months and got addicted to it and abused most of if part of the day. And then my parents yelled at me and the forced me to get off of it. Then my pshychiatrist prescribed me Concerta, I abused that too. And now I am on Vyvanse, never abused that because I am not getting the "high" feeling as I did when I been on Ritalin and Concerta. When I don't get a buzz anymore, I would get upset and kind of irritable. So does this make me a drug addict, or not really a true one?

You need to get to a doctor ASAP. I have the EXACT same symptoms as you described (I was a dancer as well). I was told I have cartilage under my knee cap wearing away. It's painful and it's nothing you want to ignore and push aside. Go to a doctor as soon as possible and find out what it wrong.

Methylphenidate overdose question?

Hello, so I have ADD. I take an odd dosage number of 27 mg methylphenidate. I was curious as to this drug I am taking, if I were to take about 3 of the pills(orally) would this act like the drug "speed". No, I am not a drug user, and do not plan on doing this, or letting anyone I know do this. I am purely just curious. Please answer me, also, is methylphenidate the same thing as ritalin? Thank you.

Noise in throat when I close it?

When I close my throat muscles while opening my mouth wide, I hear a kind of sharp squishing noise, like a clicking noise. It's the area in the back of my throat around the tonsil area. Also, if I stick my finger in there, behind the smooth "barriers" on the sides, it feels really bumpy. Also if I sniff my finger it smells. Smells like saliva but stronger. Sorry for the grossness.

Stomach pain 5 weeks pregnant... Should i worry?

This is my second child and im having stomach pain right near my ribs in the middle its a sharp pain and gives me goisebumps. Ive only felt it one other time when i was pregnant the first time with my son and i was violently sick. Where should I buy a home?

Currently I live in New York but I really am not a fan of the way it is being govern. The taxes are extremely high and I do not like the direction in which its going. What am i sick with..?

Okay so it started about 4 days ago. On the first day i started having a sharp pain under my ribs. It was an on & off pain for like 2 days. I stretched & massaged the area & it hasnt hurt since. On tuesday i started feeling nautious & i was having realllly bad headaches later that night & couldnt sleep. I felt like i was gonna throw up. When i woke up thursday morning, i felt sooo nautious but i still went to summer school because i had a test. My mom said i felt a little warm. & Ever since thursday at like 2, i've felt a little better. I've been drinking LOTS of water & eat normal food. I still have an appetite which is good i guess. I still feel nautious, but not as much. I can ignore it, it doesn't really stop me from activities or anything. What do you think im sick with? Oh & now my mom is starting to have pain under her ribs & have headaches. Please help.

Bipolar mom is having seizures and tremors?

My mom is bipolar and addicted to ritalin and previously an alcoholic. She has just noticed she has tremors - she shakes when doing certain movements. Also, whenever she stands up quickly she feels all warm and blacks out like she is doing to faint. She has fell down and had seizures several times after standing up. What do you think could be causing this? She is on a variety of bipolar meds but hasn't changed them in a while so I dont think this is the cause. Thanks!

All day the pain has been worsening and it feels like there is a bruise there but there is no sign of one, I have not been hit there or anything. Sharp stabbing pains in vagina?

I started having sharp stabbing pains in my vagina today. I am ttc and my lat period was june 9th... Chemical pregnancy. its too early for pregnancy symptoms if I do get a bfp this month though. I don't have any burning or itching just the pains. They have not ceased at all today... They last for a second and go away then come back like 3 seconds later. Any ideas???

Painful stomach and watery stools?

Most importantly drink plenty of fresh water as you're loosing a lot of fluid from your body plus eat crackers only for to day the most important drink a lot of water so as not to get dehydrated. At the pharmacy you can buy sachets that you mix with water so that they will help you to keep your electrolytes( body substances) in check. When you start getting back to normal you can introduce some food avoiding dairy products and citrus's fruits. Example eat bread with a bit of jam, banana is good for diarrhea.

Does childhood ADD go away?

I was diagnosed with ADD as a child and took Ritalin for a very short period of time because one of my family members was in denial of my issues. I never really thought of it again in my life until recently. Light bulbs seems to be going off. I am 26 now and every attempt at doing anything studious is difficult for me, I cannot seem to concentrate. I love to read and that is hard most of the time. I love to write and that is extremely hard to sit and do. I am very forgetful and unorganized and the list goes on. I was just curious does childhood ADD go away or is it a life long illness? Do adults with ADD or ADHD develop it in their adulthood? If not do I have to be diagnosed all over again?

She's 16 but behaves like a 5year old sometimes 12 on a good day, oh and she's in Intensive Outpatient Therapy, and sees a shrink, is on Abilify for Mixed BiPolar Disorder but you secretly believe her to be a narcissistic borderline personality, who has no respect, no manners, even though you taught her, is a monumental brat (your fault because you overcompensated for divorcing her Daddy whom she was always closer to) who is a pharm freak and basically does whatever pharmaceutical drug (Xanax, Valium, Ritalin, etc) she can get her hands on, and refuses to follow the rules, manipulates, lies straight faced and has eves without a soul, do you kick her butt into rehab even though you know it won't do any good and her birth father won't help by taking her off your hands so you can focus on your two other children, kick her out, give her up to the state or get all touchy feely and try to help her even though you get egg on your face every time you do and you know that she won't change and grow the hell up until she finally faces herself

Chest pain after workout?

My chest is hurting after an intense workout and I don't know what it could be. To be honest I've been smoking weed for like 2 months now. Why does my stomach hurt?
